~*April's In-Home Child Care*~

All parents want to make sure their children are being taught and looked after by responsible adults. On this page I have the opportunity to introduce myself.

About Me:

      Hello! I'm a 23 year old, happily married, mother, to a wonderful 2 year old daughter! I'm a stay at home mother and part time OSU, college student.

      I started my own in-home daycare business in October of 2007. It has been a very rewarding experience for me. I love the kids I care for as if they were my own.

       I currently provide childcare for:

P/T: 23 Month old {1 Day/Week}

P/T:   7 Month old {3 Days/Week}

F/T:   10 Month old {4-5 Days/Week}

*My Past Training*

      I've had over 10 years of experience in babysitting prior to being a mother. I have references, also, upon request.

      I am certified and trained in First Aide and CPR. I also have a current STNA license. I have been a State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant since 2004. So I have a lot of medical knowledge to help further provide your children with the care they need. I am also a part time Ohio State University Nursing student. But don’t be alarmed on that one. I take classes after 6pm. during the week. So you will never have an availability issue with me.

*Ages I Care For*

     I am currently have a 2 full time spots available. I would like to fill these spots with children closer to 2 years old, as I already have a couple under the age of 1 at the moment. Then I have a part time spot that I would like to fill for my Wed-Fri spot. This can be any child age, 9mo and up. My only requirement is that the child(ren) already be adapted to strangers well. If this would be their first time in a daycare environment, then I'm sorry to say, but I can't accept them. This is nothing personal, but in the last month or so, I have tried adding to my roster with children who has never been away from mommy and daddy, and it affected my other children I already currently watch. I totally understand there is some adjustment period for every child and can work with that to a certain extent.

I also, include a daily activity sheet. And for all ages it will include all the times of feedings, changes, naps, if items are needed for the next arrival, any art work we did and activities we did that day. Also, this is a great way to keep communication at best between me and you, the parents. I really don’t agree with discussing any situations about your child in front of them. Their little ears are filled with everything around them. So if you or I have a concern we can just jot it down or you can simply just give me a call during non-business hours. Which ever is simplest for you.

*Why I do, What I do*

      I want to provide that social interaction for my daughter. So with my love and devotion for children; has brought me to this. The main reason I chose to do this is to be a huge part of my daughters’ childhood and enjoy every moment possible. In the past experience's we've had with all of those careless daycare centers has also, really made us appreciate the luxury; for in-home child care.

      So I hope you take me into consideration when making your child care provider decision. Give me a call or email me to set up an interview today!

Thanks,

A little about me.

“Touching the Future”

I don't wear power suits, make speeches, or drive
a fancy sports car.
I've never talked on a car phone, made a big sale,
or been elected to the Senate.
I don't "do lunch”, have a big impressive office
or carry a beeper.
I spend my days wiping away tears, giving hugs,
and serving chicken nuggets.
A good day is when I go through a whole day without a temper tantrum,
bite mark or a toilet training accident.
My "office" is a room full of brightly colored toys and laughing children.
You may not think that what I do is very important
and you may even whisper behind my back
"What a waste of a good mind."
But I know better.
I make a difference because I'm changing the world one child at a time.
Everyday I'm getting the once in a lifetime chance to touch the future.
I'm proud to say "I'm a child care provider".
